Kelly R.

Office Manager, Business Assistant

I have worked in the dental field for eight years total and spent the last year of that time at Cornerstone. I am currently the Office Manager and Business Assistant in our Davenport location and take care of our patients while they are checking in, scheduling, and inquiring on their accounts. During my time in the dental field I have had the opportunity to really learn the ins and outs of dental care and have become a go-to for patients and team members for insurance questions and even complicated treatment questions. I have loved learning more and more over the years!

My favorite value here at Cornerstone is The Golden Rule because It kind of umbrellas the other core values- Family First and Willing to Wash the Dishes (everyone pitches in). When everyone is following The Golden Rule we have an office full of happy employees willing to do what it takes to help their coworkers, patients, and office be the best and succeed.

Personally, I have three kids (Amity, Elijah, and Xavier), two granddaughters (Amila and Ellianna), and two cats (Cali and Oliver). I’m a fan of and love attending Iowa basketball, the Cubs, and the Chiefs games whenever possible! I love warm weather, being outside, golfing, fishing, kayaking, live music and the beach!

My hope for our patients is that they enjoy every visit with us and leave our office with 100% satisfaction.

Deidra M.

Office Operations Coordinator, Business Assistant
BA Communications

I am completely new to the field of dentistry although I’ve been a patient at Cornerstone for several years. I am eager to learn and get to know our patients! I have a background in communications, easily pick up on business functions, and enjoy interacting with others so I feel positive about the job I’m doing every day!

When I think about the values at Cornerstone, how can I pick one?! Not only do I love our core values, I love that we work hard to follow by discussing regularly, recognizing team members for putting these values into practice, etc. The culture here is so special! As a busy mom, I’m overly grateful that Cornerstone values family. As a new employee, I appreciate how everyone takes care of each other. No one is left on their own; everyone pulls together and helps where needed. Our patients get the best of us every day!

My husband, Joe, and I have been married since 2003. We have a daughter born in 2007, a son born in 2009, a daughter born in 2012, and a son born in 2014. Joe is a principal and we have a small lake house. We love spending summers at the lake as a family! We have a mini golden-doodle named Ruby. Our kids are involved in football, wrestling, basketball, track, cross country, choir, and church. Joe and I enjoy daily walks on the trails.

I hope our patients know that the team puts their heart and energy into giving them the best care they can! I hope they feel valued, cared for, and heard. I hope they tell their friends and family about us!

Michelle R.

Business Assistant Float, BA in Public Relations

I grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and Dubuque, IA. I attended High School in Dubuque and stayed in town to attend college, where I graduated from Loras College in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations and a minor in Psychology.

After graduating from college, I moved to the Quad Cities Area and have been living here ever since.

My interest in dentistry started early. As a child, I loved going to the dentist. I started working at Cornerstone in March of 2019 with no dental background. I quickly learned I loved everything about dentistry. I genuinely enjoy being part of the dental world because it’s a mix of precision, people, and purpose. There’s something deeply satisfying about being a part of the process of creating healthy, confident smiles while helping keep the practice running smoothly behind the scenes. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make patients feel cared for and supported, and that’s what keeps me passionate about dentistry.

My husband, Steve, and I have been married since 2018 share two lively, adventurous boys, Isaac born in 2017 and Levi born in 2023, who keep us on our toes. We also have a furry friend at home named Tank, our Yellow Lab.

It’s tough to choose just one Cornerstone Core Value as my favorite because I believe in all of themand that’s exactly why I am so grateful to be part of the Cornerstone team. I love them all but if I had to choose it would be Family First. I’ve never been part of a company that shows genuine care for both me and my family. This makes a world of difference in work-life balance and being a working parent.

Leea T.

Treatment Coordinator

I grew up in the Davenport/Bettendorf area. I’ve always loved the sense of community here. It’s been so nice to come full circle and be back in the place that feels most like home.

I graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 2020. I’m a Covid senior! I definitely learned how to roll with the punches during such a unique senior year experience.

After graduation, I went to Scott Community College with the intention of becoming an English professor. Writing has been a consistent passion of mine! But after a few semesters, I felt the urge for adventure and decided to move to Austin, Texas on a whim! It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

While in Austin, I started working in Oral Surgery. Over time, I realized I wanted a better work/life balance while still being in a profession that helps people feel confident and cared for. When I moved back to the Quad Cities, I was lucky enough to find Cornerstone, where work/life balance is truly valued!

When I returned to Iowa, I quickly discovered how tough the job market could be! I spent plenty of time scrolling Indeed, hoping to find something that felt like “the one.” Once I met our COO, Alina, I knew Cornerstone could be that perfect fit. Since joining the team February 2025, I’ve been given the freedom to use my creativity and grow within my role. I love that this position continues to evolve as I do!

My husband and I are coming up on two years of marriage, but we just had our official wedding celebration in September of 2025! We had the best time celebrating with our families. We don’t have pets or kids yet, but we both hope for a big family someday. I get to visit my parents often, and my little sister whenever she comes home from college. Family is such a huge part of my life, and being close to them again means so much to me!

It’s hard to choose a favorite Cornerstone core value, because each one spoke to me from the start. If I had to pick, I’d say The Golden Rule resonates most. No matter our differences, the Cornerstone team shows up every day with compassion and understanding. It’s comforting to know I’m surrounded by people who treat both their teammates and patients with genuine kindness and respect.

Kelly K.

RDA, Expanded Functions Level I

I have been with Cornerstone since 2020 and in the dental field since 2010. I started my career as a dental assistant and spent the years just prior to Cornerstone teaching dental assisting courses with a local college. Since starting at Cornerstone I have worked as both a Business Assistant and a Dental Assistant, which is my primary role. I enjoy teaching and learning, but what I enjoy most is the connection I have with our patients!

The Cornerstone core value that means the most to me is Family First because the way we operate is a testament to the fact that we all truly care about one another and each other’s families, patients included!

I have been married since 2012 and have three amazing boys, two amazing step-daughters, and a house full of fur babies too!

My hope for our patients is that they feel our core values- The Golden Rule, Family First, and that we’re Willing to Wash the Dishes (do whatever it takes!)- and know that we genuinely care about them and their oral health.

Heather B.

Registered Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions Level I

I have been with Cornerstone for 9 years and a dental assistant for 25 years total. I am an Expanded Functions Level I Assistant which enables me to assist with a wide variety of dental procedures and I find a lot of joy helping my teammates with the odds and ends that come up throughout the course of a day. I enjoy assisting with dental procedures but I also get a lot of satisfaction out of helping out with anything in the office- whether it is working on computers or ordering supplies- I just like to stay busy!

The Cornerstone value that means the most to me is Family First. Cornerstone has been so good at being flexible when my kids were little allowing me to pick them up and take them to school and leaving when they were sick. The Golden Rule is important as well because I feel like I treat others as I would want to be treated and I feel everyone here is the same way. Our patients are cared for in this way.

I have been married to my husband Tony for 23 years, we have four kids: Nicholas 21, Sam 19, Carter 17 and Emmy 15. We also have two dogs, Bear and Moose so there is always something going on in our personal lives whether it is sports for one of the kids, or spending time at our lake house on the weekends with the dogs.

My hope for our patients is that we make them feel comfortable when they are here and they trust us with their care.

Sarah M.

Registered Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions Level II

I currently have 14 years in the Dental field and have spent 9 of those years with Cornerstone Family Dentistry. I worked in our Morrison office originally and later moved to our Davenport office as we grew larger. Over the years I have wanted to learn even more about dentistry and worked to become a Level II expanded Function Dental Assistant. Doing this allows me to help our patients even more with their dental needs!

Family First is one of our Core Values at Cornerstone. Cornerstone is very flexible when it comes to family first. From my children being sick to Christmas concerts, they are able to make sure I’m there for my family. I am able to be available for my family when they need me and when it matters, so when I’m in the office I can give 100% to our patients without distraction or worry!

I have been married to my husband for 3 years and we have two daughters: Shaya, 9, and Savannah, 2. We have three dogs named Dale, Dixie, and Zoey. In our free time we enjoy camping and boating on the river as a family!
My number one hope for our patients is that they trust us for their family’s dental care!

Sally B.

Registered Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions Level II

I received my dental assisting degree from DMACC in 2000 and have worked for 24 years in the dental field, with the last 10 years at Cornerstone. I recently went back to school to obtain an Expanded Functions Level II certification from the University of Minnesota and completed that in the fall of 2023. This certification allows me to perform more in-depth procedures within our office and has taught me so many things about how to better care for our patients.

A Core Value at Cornerstone that has greatly impacted my life is Family first. Our office hours give me the flexibility to spend more time with my family. This also allows me to attend school functions and sporting events. I can do my best for my family and our patients and don’t have to choose one over the other!

I live in Clinton, IA with my husband, Elijah, and our son, Kannon. We also have three grown daughters: Syrene, Jade, and Ravae. When I’m not at work I enjoy reading (listening to audiobooks), working out, traveling, and spending time with my family and dogs.

I always hope that our patients feel we provide nonjudgmental care, and that we’re making top-quality dentistry affordable.

Rachel S.

Registered Dental Hygienist, BSDH

I have been with Cornerstone since Feb 2024 after a long-distance move to the area but have worked in the dental field for since 2021 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. I love to work with patients who have struggled with maintaining their oral health and need more extensive treatment to get back on track. I absolutely love a good success story!

The most obvious value as I’ve joined Cornerstone is that everyone here is Willing to Wash the Dishes – I can rely on my teammates to get jobs done, nothing falls on one person, everyone helps everyone out! It makes the day faster and more fun!

In my personal life I love all things active: biking, running, lifting, golfing, and sand volleyball. I’m originally from Northwest, Iowa, by Okoboji, but my husband is a farmer north of Davenport, which has brought me this way. We love to travel, especially internationally! I have seen countless country artists, and I always have a country concert on the books!

My ultimate hope is for my patients to feel cared about. I want them to be educated in their own oral health, and I hope I can impact each of them in a positive way!

Robyn D.

Registered Dental Hygienist

I have been a hygienist since 2000 and have been with Cornerstone since 2017. I enjoy building relationships with my patients. My favorites are those who I’ve seen my entire career!

The Golden Rule is my favorite Cornerstone Core Value to apply to both our team members and our patients. Dentistry is not always easy for us or our patients so I feel like if we all use this rule we can make it through anything!

I’ve been married to my husband since 2004 and am a mom of two grown boys. I have four dogs and two cats at my crazy house but love every minute of it!

I want our patients to have a good experience and want them to return for future appointments. I have compassion for the “scared” and “fearful” patients. My hope is to provide quality care and ensure comfort, both physically and emotionally for all of our patients. I love and enjoy what I do!!

Jordan B.

Registered Dental Hygienist

I was born and raised in Davenport, IA, and come from a family of four. While I don’t have kids of my own yet, my two energetic Boston Terriers keep life very entertaining and busy! Growing up I played basketball and softball and I still enjoy staying active through running, weightlifting, hiking, and playing pickleball.

My interest in dentistry began when I got braces as a kid—I loved seeing the transformation in my smile and the confidence it gave me. That experience stuck with me and inspired me to help others feel the same way. As a hygienist, my goal is to make every patient feel comfortable, heard, and cared for. I strive to create a positive experience where patients not only feel confident in their smile, but also supported in their overall oral health journey.

After earning my Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2025, I joined the Cornerstone team because of their welcoming atmosphere and shared commitment to patient care. My favorite Cornerstone core value is Willing to “Wash the Dishes” because it represents true teamwork – one where no task is beneath anyone and everyone is ready to step in, help out, and support each other no matter what. It creates a very motivating, uplifting, and inspiring team that I am proud to be part of.

Stephanie P.

Registered Dental Hygienist

I grew up in Davenport and graduated from Davenport West High School in 1996. I attended Kirkwood Community College and earned a degree in Dental Hygiene. I’m passionate about dentistry and helping my patients achieve and maintain their best oral health.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two adult children, and our dogs, Dutch and Dice. We love traveling across the country in our camper, exploring new places and visiting national parks.

My favorite Cornerstone core value is Family First. I appreciate the way the practice encourages a healthy balance between caring for patients and cherishing time with loved ones.

Natalie H.

Lactation Consultant, IBCLC

Natalie has been working with families since 2001 and has been an IBCLC (Lactation Consultant) since 2011. She first partnered with Dr. Mindy in 2013 and joined Cornerstone, seeing patients in the office beginning in 2016. During her time at Cornerstone, she has helped thousands of families in conjunction with our doctors by working through feeding issues as well as supporting them during frenectomy procedures.

Natalie lives out the Golden Rule in both her personal and professional life. At all times, treating the families she sees with the respect and consideration she would expect for herself and her own family. Natalie shared that her alignment with the values at Cornerstone is centered on being, “part of a team that values how we treat each other.”

When asked about family life, Natalie will tell you she’s been married for more years than she’s willing to disclose! She enjoys reading, studying, and spending time with her four children and their “people”.  They are a “cat family” and currently have three cats and some horses at grandma’s house. Natalie’s compassion overflows for all others- her pets, her friends, and her family, and we see it in action daily with her patients at Cornerstone!

As a provider, Natalie’s hope for her patients is that they leave the office feeling supported, comfortable, and equipped with a solid plan for their family.

Skye H.

Chief Accounts Manager, Registered Dental Assistant

It’s hard to believe I have worked in dentistry for 15 years! I’ve worked in the dental field since June 2009 and joined Cornerstone in 2015. I’ve worn many hats, gaining experience as a Dental Assistant and a Business Assistant but I’m currently the Chief Accounts Manager. In my position I handle the technicalities of patient billing, and the deeper insurance claim responsibilities that must be facilitated day-to-day in order to have a successful dental practice. I oversee all accounts receivable for the offices and our Business Assistants send any tricky patient accounts or requests my way!

We have 3 values at Cornerstone: The Golden Rule, Family First, and Willing to Wash the Dishes. Without a doubt, The Golden Rule means the most to me because if you follow the Golden Rule in all areas of your life, family can be put first when needed and the willingness to wash dishes comes naturally. Nothing but good comes from the golden rule!

I’m from a smaller town in Southeast Iowa originally but I moved to Davenport with my family in 2009. I have been with my Husband, James, since 2003 and we have 2 amazing children together. My husband and I love to take short day trips together to try new food and enjoy new destinations. I always look for scenery that reminds me of something that Bob Ross would paint!!! I’m a Dachshund enthusiast but our whole family shares a general love for animals. We have just enough fur babies at home to make our hearts happy!

My hope for our patients is that we make coming to the dentist easy and we earn their trust while building long-standing relationships. I love watching our patient families grow up and knowing that we’ve positively impacted their lives.

Alyssa J.

Marketing, BA in Fashion Merchandising

I grew up in a small, rural community in west central Illinois in a little town called Roseville.

I graduated from Roseville High School in 1997. I participated in band, choir, the speech team, and volleyball. My main activity was cheerleading!
After highschool I went to Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL and obtained a degree in fashion merchandising with a minor in management.

I started working for Dr. Mindy and her family to help her with tasks at home and jumped on an opportunity to also work on some marketing opportunities for Cornerstone.

I’ve been married to my husband, Brian, since 2003. We have 5 kids born between 2007 and 2019It’s fun to see the kids in all different seasons and stages of childhood and we’re never, ever bored!

My favorite core value is Family First. I can attest first-hand to their Family First core value. We’ve dealth with family medical issues along with long hospital stays and unanswered issues. Cornerstone has been super supportive and understanding when I need to be away to help advocate.

Alina L.

Chief Operating Officer, MA-PSY

I have 7 years in the dental field (all at Cornerstone) with a previous history in healthcare administration. In a nutshell, I oversee the operations for all of our practices from patient satisfaction, to human resources, to project management. Most dental offices have traditional office managers but with the demands of organizing the operations of 3 offices, we operate differently. We have incredible Business Assistants and teams at each location to serve our unique communities. My role is to help build the best teams and processes in our offices and partner with our owners to provide the best and most sustainable care we can for our patients!

My life has been completely changed by working in an environment where The Golden Rule is at the heart of what we do. I try to consider how my attitude and decisions impact those around me. I’ve found that when the focus of life can be treating others with kindness, respect, and even (a lot) of grace and humor, the rest just falls into place. I get to show up every day as the truest version of myself, surrounded by a group of genuinely amazing people!

I was born out of state but moved to IL, where I currently live with my husband of many years and my two boys. Some people have hobbies they enjoy – I enjoy just about anything – as long as I’m with my family! I love making my house a home, by the way it feels when you walk in, to the food I make for loved ones. I live my life with faith at the center and I strive to walk that faith out in my personal life and my time at the office.

I love to brighten someone’s day! Oftentimes I do this with humor (I am silly by nature). This includes our patients at times, but it ultimately starts with our team members. I truly believe that in order for our patients to have a positive experience, our team members must first feel genuinely positive about what they are doing. All of us at some time or another have background noise in our lives – it might be grief, finances, relational stress, the list goes on. As a leader in the practice, my top priority is to relate well to the team and our patients with the hope that their lives may somehow be improved by our interactions!

Heather J.

Area Director, PhD in Health and Human Physiology

I grew up in Erie, IL and attended Erie High School.  I was involved in a variety of academic groups, sports and cheerleading. My love of sport and physical activity translated to my chosen area of study in college.  In addition, immediately following high school I became a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and eventually a Strength and Conditioning Specialist for a variety of recreational, collegiate and Olympic athlete populations. Fitness and training continues to be a big part of my own life, and I still do some consulting work in the fitness/wellness field today!

I attended Illinois State University for my B.S. and M.S. degrees, earning my Masters in Kinesiology/Exercise Physiology.  Following my Master’s degree I did a post-graduate fellowship in a biomechanics lab in Vail, CO and worked for an orthopedic surgeon in Breckenridge, CO.  After moving back to the midwest, I attended the University of Iowa, earning a PhD in Health and Human Physiology (2010) with a research focus on physical activity and bone health. I have spent the last 25 years in education and research, with the majority of my career spent as a professor of exercise science.

I learned about Cornerstone from a friend who felt my background and skills would be a good fit for a new administrative role Cornerstone had developed.  After learning about the values, positive business model and the caring nature of the owners and team, I knew I wanted to be part of the Cornerstone team, joining in 2025. Because of my educational background and passion for helping others achieve positive health and wellness outcomes, taking on a role in a clinical health field has been a natural transition.  While I have a great deal to learn about dentistry specifically, it has been an interesting and fun challenge!

I live in Illinois with my husband, Brandon, and son, Colton (2016). We enjoy family movie nights, the outdoors, sports/hiking and an occasional Whitey’s ice cream run.  We also love sharing a meal or sitting around a bonfire with friends and family.

My favorite Cornerstone Core Value is the Golden Rule because it is aligned with my Christian faith and Jesus’ second greatest command – to love your neighbor as yourself!

Yogi

Our Office Dog

My name is Yogi. I was born in 2022 and adopted by my wonderful family, the Hochgesangs. My mom saw my potential at a young age and immediately enrolled me in the prestigious training program from Speak Dog where I earned a canine good citizen certificate. I applied for a job in the family business and was hired following graduation as the Director of Patient Services-animal.

When I’m not working with my mom I enjoy long walks, running, and anything that smells questionable. Through the years I have been a support to patients and co-workers with my sweet and calming demeanor. I love to rest my head in the laps of nervous patients and comfort anyone having a hard day. I also love when children (and other animal lovers) just want to say hello! The only real challenge I have on the job is the UPS guy, but I’m working with my supervisor to improve my communication in that area so I can be the best version of myself for you!

At Cornerstone we are focused on Core Values. My favorite is, ” Willing to Wash the Dishes”. I have a solid track record of doing everything I possibly can to clean up dishes left unattended- whether they are where I’m supposed to be or not!

If you love dogs as much as I love humans, request to see me in any of our three office locations! I would love to meet you!

I wanted to be a dentist from a fairly young age, despite not really knowing any dentists.

I have one son, Elijah, born in 2009.

My favorite Cornerstone core value is Family First. I like this core value best because it reflects how I was raised and how I have always felt. I think some companies prefer to be the top priority, but that wouldn’t be realistic in my world.

Donna S.

Registered Dental Assistant

I grew up in Rock Falls. I graduated from Rock FaIls High School in 2002. I was on the dance team all four years.

I’ve always been fascinated with teeth/smiles and wanted to make a difference in someone’s life. Having that kind of confidence is huge.

I’ve been married to my husband, Shae, since 2007. We have two boys  (2003 and 2009), and our boxer, Lexi Lou. We love being outdoors, watching football, spending quality time with friends and traveling,

I was fortunate to join the Cornerstone team when they bought the Erie office Dec. 2024.

I married my best friend and high school sweetheart in 2007. We have four children, Sydney born in 2010, Derek 2012, Josh 2013 and Lyla 2015.

The Golden Rule is my favorite Cornerstone core value because it is what Jesus instructed in Matthew 7:12 “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you…”

Ethan R.

Hygientist, RDH

I grew up in Fulton, IL and graduated from Fulton High School in 2021. While in high school I participated in football, wrestling, and track. After graduation I attended Carl Sandburg college and graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2025.

I got interested in dentistry because I had a great dentist growing up who was also my neighbor.

I found out about Cornerstone through a coworker. I reached out and got called in for an interview. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and am grateful to have the opportunity to be on the team.

My dad is a retired electrician, my mom is a nurse, and my brother is pursuing a career is Cyber Security. We love to do everything together, whether that be watching football, going on jeep rides, or visiting places.

Family first has to be my favorite Cornerstone core value because in my opinion nothing is more important than family.

Tara R.

Business Assistant

I grew up in East Moline, IL and attended United Township High School and graduated in 2001.

I had a job opportunity as a dental assistant and wanted to give it a try. After working 10 years as an assistant, I moved up to the front office. In December 2024 Cornerstone bought the office I was currently working for.

My husband and I were married in 2008. We have a daughter (2003) and son (2011). Our daughter got married fall of 2024. We have a pit bull, Wrigley, that is a big part of our family (since 2018). We enjoy hiking, going on family vacations, and love watching the Chicago Bears play!

Family first is my favorite Cornerstone core value. I feel like it allows me to come to work and perform at my best.
