What is a Frenectomy?
Our doctors – Dr. Mindy and Dr. Jackie – specialize in providing frenectomy procedures to improve oral function and overall well-being. Frenectomies are simple surgical procedures to correct a tongue or lip-tie. Releasing a tongue-tie involves removing the band of tissue that connects the tongue to the floor of the mouth, while releasing a lip-tie removes the band of tissue that connects the lip to the gums. When the tongue or lip is abnormally positioned, too tight, or too restrictive, it can lead to various issues including: speech difficulties, restricted movement, and dental problems. We use a CO2 laser to create accurate tongue/lip-tie releases while being minimally invasive.
If you suspect your child may benefit from a frenectomy or have concerns about their oral health, we invite you to schedule a consultation with us. Let Cornerstone Family Dentistry be your partner in ensuring your child’s healthy, happy smile.
